Noetic Provides Internal Focus to Defence Export Unit

Canberra, April 09

Noetic recently completed a business planning process for the Defence Export Unit (DEU).  Noetic was first engaged by DEU to develop its 2008-012 Strategic Plan 2008-12.  By January 2009, the DEU was experiencing difficulties making progress against the plan.  Noetic was engaged to undertake a review of the Strategic Plan which validated the goals in the Strategic Plan, but identified a need to operationalise it into a Business Plan.  Noetic conducted interviews that uncovered a lack of internal coordination, uncertainty about roles, and a supply driven approach to export facilitation.  Noetic's issues paper guided the DEU towards a change in philosophy towards a market-driven export approach, provided for clearly defined roles and provided the DEU with internal development initiatives.  Noetic Business Plan also provided the DEU with a tool that clearly outlined a series of initiatives required to operationalise the DEU Strategic Plan.
